Exam Structure & Timing
- Total Time: The test is 115 minutes long.
- Total Questions: You can expect approximately 46 questions.
- Part 1 (No Calculator): The exam begins with a 12-minute section containing 5 questions where calculators are strictly prohibited.
- Transition Break: A 3-minute break is provided between the two sections.
- Part 2 (Calculator Allowed): The remainder of the test allows a calculator, featuring approximately 40 questions to be completed in 100 minutes.
Calculator Policy
- Approved Calculator: The Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiView Scientific Calculator is the official and only calculator permitted on the exam.
- On-Screen Calculator: A digital version of the TI-30XS is built directly into the testing software and will be available during Part 2.
- Physical Calculators: You may bring your own handheld TI-30XS MultiView to the test center, but no other brands or models are allowed.

- Mathematics Formula Sheet: An on-screen formula sheet is provided to assist with geometry and algebraA branch of mathematics that uses numbers, variables, and sy... calculations, meaning you do not have to memorize standard formulas.
- Calculator Reference Sheet: An on-screen guide is available to help you navigate the specific functions and button combinations of the TI-30XS calculator.
- Scratch Paper: Test-takers will be provided with a wipe-off board and marker to use as scratch paper for manual calculations.
Content & Scoring
- Passing Score: You must achieve a minimum score of 145 (out of a possible 200) to pass the exam.
- Quantitative Reasoning (45%): This portion assesses your skills in positive and negative whole numbers, decimals, fractions, ratios, percentages, statistics, and geometric measurement.
- Algebraic Reasoning (55%): This portion assesses your ability to work with expressions, polynomials, linear equations, quadratic equations, inequalities, and functions.
